Day 1: arrive and orientate

Stay close to the chosen Tallinn area. Walk the immediate district and keep the plan proportional to the arrival time.

Day 2: historic centre

Use Old Town and Toompea as one connected day, with one museum or interior rather than every landmark.

Day 3: Tallinn beyond Old Town

Choose Kadriorg and its museums, or Kalamaja, Telliskivi and Noblessner. A nature extension works only if the departure time and transport are already secure.

The night count

A three-day route commonly uses two or three Tallinn nights depending on arrival and departure. State the actual hotel nights separately from the numbered days.

Choose the third day before you arrive

Keep day three inside Tallinn unless the departure is late and the alternative transport is already confirmed. Kadriorg suits a museum and park day. Kalamaja, Telliskivi and Noblessner form a better choice when you want neighbourhoods, food stops and the waterfront. Pick one side of the city rather than joining both into a final-day race.

If rain or wind changes the plan, keep one indoor anchor and shorten the walking loop around it. A nature trip outside Tallinn needs its own transport window and is rarely a sensible extra on a three-day first visit.

Check before travel

  • Count hotel nights separately from calendar days.
  • Check the closing day of the museum you most want to see.
  • Leave enough time for the airport or ferry terminal, including luggage collection.
