Getting there and getting around
Elron serves Viljandi on the southwest line from Tallinn. The station is outside the old-town core, so allow for the transfer rather than treating arrival as immediate sightseeing time.
The compact centre does not require a car. A vehicle becomes useful only when Viljandi is the base for smaller places or rural areas beyond the town.
